Practically every one of us has ideas about how to improve our job, department, or company. The problem most of us have is no one is interested in our opinion.
In the past, management always thought that it was right. To ask workers opinions on how to improve the company, was believed by them, to be somehow demeaning to management. It was probably too much pride (or perhaps actually believing that workers didn’t know anything) contributed to this attitude.
The problem of productivity became so severe however, that we turned to the people who had the solutions all the time. No one knows the job better than the person actually performing it.
